Glauber’s Salt

The purpose of Glauber’s Salt in our Cleanses is to dehydrate the lymphatic system, thus “squeezing” every last drop of “icky” out into our bowels. This creates a “clean slate” for us to work with, which is why we want to use fresh citrus juices to rehydrate because they will flush into the lymphatic system, and rehydrate quickly and completely.

Glauber’s salt is a phenomenal mineral made up of sodium and sulfate. It is water soluble, has a salty, bitter taste, and is an important nutrient for each of us. It is essential for the production and health of our cartilage as well as many other tissues. It is a vital constituent in the myelin membranes of our brain. It is freely filtered and extensively reabsorbed (only the good stuff is reabsorbed so we can use it) by the kidneys and is often used internally to treat:

  • pH balance
  • heavy metals
  • toxicity
  • lymphatic stagnation
  • bloating
  • abdominal pain
  • constipation
  • dry feces
  • sore throats
  • appendicitis
  • mouth sores
  • red eyes
  • ulcerative carbuncles
  • swelling
  • pain
  • inflammation
  • rheumatism
  • parasites
  • bone spurs

In addition to it’s internal uses, it is also wonderful when used topically for:

  • mastitis
  • swollen hemorrhoids
  • Mumps
  • Ascariasis
  • Pruritus
  • eczema

A Glauber’s Salt solution can prevent the intestinal absorption of water (meaning once it is in your intestines, the toxins it helped capture won’t be reabsorbed, you’ll eliminate them through your bowels. YAY!), increase the intestinal volume (more poo), and stimulate peristalsis (helps move it out).

It stimulates Bulk, Lubrication & Moisture in the bowels.
